Zara Home exits Hangzhou as fast fashion struggles
Zara Home’s final store in Hangzhou, located in Raffles City, will close on July 26, marking the brand’s full withdrawal from the city. Staff cited high rent as the reason, though the closure has sparked disappointment among loyal customers. Zara Home once operated at least five locations in Hangzhou. Similar closures have occurred in other cities, including Changsha. The move reflects the broader retreat of fast fashion brands in China. Inditex, Zara’s parent company, reported that Asia’s share of group revenue fell to 15.7% in FY2024, down from 23.2% in 2020.
