La Perla shuts Tmall store citing strategic shifts

Italian luxury lingerie brand La Perla has shut down its flagship store on Alibaba’s Tmall platform as of last week, citing strategic adjustments. In a statement, the brand noted that it will continue to serve Chinese consumers through other channels. Founded in 1954 by Ada Masotti in Bologna, La Perla had amassed over 700,000 followers on its Tmall store since its launch. Despite the closure, the brand pledged to maintain after-sales service for existing customers and encouraged them to stay tuned for future updates.
