Chinese designer Kexin Zhang wins Louis Vuitton competition

French luxury house Louis Vuitton has announced the winners of its second Accessories Design Graduates Initiative, with Chinese designer Kexin Zhang taking the top prize. Trained at Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts and later at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Zhang brings a strong background in jewelry and metalwork. She will join Louis Vuitton’s leather goods and accessories design team, where her craftsmanship and ability to translate jewelry design into leatherwork impressed the judges. Zhang was selected from over 200 applicants worldwide. Fifteen finalists were invited to present their work at the brand’s historic Asnières workshop in Paris. The annual competition, launched in 2023, is open to recent fashion, art, and design graduates from top European and U.S. schools.
