Chinese car brand sales surge 79% in Europe

Chinese automotive brands continued their rapid expansion in Europe in April, posting a 79% YoY sales increase to over 50,000 units, lifting their market share from 2.6% a year ago to 4.6%. BYD led growth, selling 12,558 vehicles with its mid-size SUV Seal U driving nearly 6,000 of those sales. Chery saw a 1,149% surge to 5,773 units, largely thanks to its premium sub-brands Jaecoo and Omoda. MG brand maintained its lead with 21,735 units sold in April, up 25% YoY.
