China’s digital economy seen hitting 10% of GDP by 2026

China’s digital economy is expected to contribute over 10% of the country’s GDP by the end of 2025, according to a new national action plan released by the National Data Administration. The “Digital China” initiative outlines eight key areas of focus, including AI integration, infrastructure upgrades, digital talent cultivation, and the development of a unified data market. By 2026, China’s total computing power is projected to exceed 300 EFLOPS, while reforms in data element allocation and public data utilization will accelerate.
