Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines relax visa policies to boost tourism
As competition intensifies across Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Philippines have announced relaxed visa policies to attract more international tourists. Vietnam has waived visas for travelers from Poland, Czechia, and Switzerland on package tours and extended exemptions for 12 other countries until 2028. Malaysia will allow Chinese citizens visa-free visits until 2036, extending a policy from late 2023. The Philippines has introduced a digital nomad visa allowing remote workers to stay up to one year. Thailand, while implementing a new digital arrival card, is considering shortening its 90-day visa-free stay for Chinese tourists.
