NFT buyers sue Nike after abrupt crypto shutdown
Nike faces a proposed class-action lawsuit filed by buyers who claim losses after the company shut down its RTFKT division, which created Nike-themed NFTs. The lawsuit, led by Australian resident Jagdeep Cheema, alleges the December 2024 closure caused sharp value drops in purchased NFTs. Plaintiffs claim they wouldn’t have bought at original prices had they known Nike might exit without warning, and seek damages exceeding $5 million for violations in four U.S. states.
