China vehicle exports surge 16% in Q1

China exported 1.54 million vehicles in the Q1 2025, a 16% YoY increase, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). In March alone, exports reached 570,000 units, also up 16% from a year earlier. The growth was fueled by improved competitiveness of Chinese automotive products and expanding demand across “Global South” markets. Mexico topped the list with 138,600 vehicles, followed by the UAE (107,900 units).
