Decorté raises prices amid China store closures

According to Decorté’s website, the brand will raise prices on 172 products starting June 1 due to rising raw material and operational costs driven by global inflation. The price increases, ranging from approximately 3.3% to 5%, will affect a wide range of categories including skincare, makeup, sunscreen, fragrance, and personal care. Meanwhile, Decorté has been scaling back its presence in China, with reports of counter closures in cities like Chongqing, Changchun, Wuhan, Xi’an, Xiamen, and Ningbo. These moves highlight the challenges faced by its parent company, Kosé Corporation, whose sales in Asia (excluding Japan) dropped 23% YoY, according to its latest 2024 fiscal report.
