Chinese textile council decries end of duty-free imports to US
The China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) issued a statement on April 3 in response to the US’ removal of duty-free treatment for low-value shipments from mainland China and Hong Kong. The council emphasized that China, as a major contributor and participant in the global textile and apparel industry, has long met global market demand with high-quality products and services, offering diverse consumer choices for U.S. customers. The CNTAC called on international organizations, industry associations, and stakeholders worldwide to oppose trade protectionism and uphold the multilateral trading system.
