Gucci has introduced the “90 x 90” project, named after the dimensions of its signature silk twill scarf (90cm x 90cm). The initiative features nine international artists — Robert Barry, Everett Glenn, Sara Leghissa, Currynew, Jonny Niesche, Gio Pastori, Walter Petrone, Yu Cai, and Inji Seo — who reinterpret five classic Gucci scarf themes: botanical, animal, nautical, equestrian, and the GG Monogram. In conjunction with the project, Gucci will collaborate with Assouline to publish Gucci: The Art of Silk, a book exploring the history and artistry of Gucci’s silk scarves. It is scheduled for release in late April.
