Chinese Grand Prix attendance surges

The 2025 F1 Chinese Grand Prix, held this past weekend in Shanghai’s Jiading district, set a new attendance record with over 220,000 spectators, surpassing last year’s figures. According to official post-race data, international visitors accounted for 15.25% of the total audience, with 60% of them traveling to Shanghai specifically for the race — double the previous year’s figure. The data also highlights a rising proportion of female viewers at the Chinese Grand Prix, reflecting the sport’s growing appeal among women. F1’s official data indicates that the sport now boasts over 820 million fans worldwide, with more than 150 million in China alone.
