Shanghai-Osaka flights spike 68.5% amid cherry blossom demand

According to data from the Tongcheng Travel Research Institute, flight bookings from Shanghai to Tokyo, Osaka, and Jeju Island have seen month-on-month increases of 50.8%, 68.5%, and 29.5% respectively since the start of this month. Similarly, bookings from Beijing to Tokyo and Osaka rose by 26.8% and 19.8%. With Japan’s cherry blossom season in full bloom, demand for less conventional routes has surged. Bookings for flights from Shanghai to Nagoya increased by 42.7%, while those from Beijing to Osaka jumped 66.9%.
