L’Oréal China appoints Meng Yingqi as new GM

L’Oréal has announced that Meng Yingqi, current General Manager of La Roche-Posay China, will take over as general manager of L’Oréal Paris China effective April 1. Meng, a Fudan University graduate, joined L’Oréal China in 2009 as a management trainee and has held key roles across brands like Shu Uemura and L’Oréal Paris before leading La Roche-Posay China since 2022. Her appointment comes as L’Oréal faces challenges in the Chinese market. In 2024, North Asia sales declined 3.2% YoY, causing the region to slip to L’Oréal's third-largest market. In response, the company closed NYX Professional Makeup’s Tmall Global store and raised prices across several brands. With Meng’s leadership, L’Oréal Paris China is expected to unveil new strategies to regain momentum in the market.
