Former Arc’teryx designer joins Nike as VP of apparel design
Taka Kasuga, former design director of the Arc’teryx Veilance line, has officially joined Nike as Vice President of Apparel, Accessories, and Equipment Design. Kasuga spent nearly a decade at Arc’teryx, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the Veilance line’s reputation for stylish yet high-performance designs. His move to Nike signals a shift from designing functional outerwear to focusing on Nike ACG’s more athletic and outdoor-oriented products. Kasuga is expected to bring fresh design concepts and innovative ideas, particularly in high-end product lines and functional apparel development. Earlier, Nike announced that Dong Wei, Chairman and CEO of Nike Greater China, would also take on the role of Global CEO for the ACG brand, underscoring the company’s increased focus on the outdoor segment.
