Major luxury brands close Chongqing airport stores
Luxury brands are adjusting their retail strategies in Chinese airports, with Valentino, Zegna, and Versace recently closing their stores at Chongqing Jiangbei Airport’s T3A domestic terminal. DFS stated that it is shifting its focus to the duty-free retail model in Yalong Bay. Airport luxury retail in China remains underdeveloped, with only Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu having sufficient consumer demand. Chongqing lacks strong luxury spending power and brand influence.
