Flower tourism blooms with 183% surge in Chinese travel interest

According to data from travel platform Mafengwo, interest in flower viewing has surged by 183% over the past week. Suzhou, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Guangzhou, and Chengdu are among the top destinations with the fastest-growing popularity. Long-distance flower-viewing trips that require advance booking, such as peach blossoms in Nyingchi, Tibet, apricot blossoms in Ili, Xinjiang, and pear blossoms along the Western Sichuan route, have seen a significant increase in bookings. Interest in Xinjiang’s apricot blossoms has risen by 116%, while Sichuan’s Jinchuan pear blossoms have seen a 127% increase.
