Xiaomi to launch EVs globally, take on Tesla
Xiaomi plans to start selling its electric vehicles (EVs) outside of China within the next few years, according to company President William Lu at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Although no specific timeline was provided, this move highlights Xiaomi’s ambition to compete in the global EV market, aiming to rival players like Tesla. Xiaomi recently launched its premium EV, the SU7 Ultra, in China, which sold 15,000 units in just 24 hours. This marks the company’s second EV after its entry into the segment in 2021, following the successful launch of the SU7 last year.
