Net-a-Porter announced on February 15 that it will close all its online channels in China, including Tmall, WeChat, Xiaohongshu, and Douyin, by March 20. After-sales services will end on April 22. This marks the brand’s exit from China after over a decade. Reports from June last year indicated the brand was liquidating its Chinese operations, with no new orders expected from the Spring/Summer 2025 collection. Richemont and Alibaba’s joint venture, Fengmao Trading (Shanghai), will also dissolve. The move reflects broader challenges in China’s luxury e-commerce market, as brands like Louis Vuitton and Chanel expand their own channels, squeezing third-party platforms like Net-a-Porter.
