Jimmy Choo co-founder eyes brand buyback from Capri

Tamara Mellon is considering buying the brand from Capri Holdings, which has been seeking to sell Jimmy Choo along with Versace. While Jimmy Choo has recently faced challenges due to the rise of casual styles, it has fared better than Versace, with a slight decline in revenues of 0.6% in the six months leading to September 2023. Despite struggles in occasion wear and the broader luxury market downturn, particularly in China, Jimmy Choo’s casual collections have shown double-digit growth. Capri has been working with Barclays to sell off both brands after its planned acquisition by Tapestry Inc fell through last year.
