Met Gala 2025 to celebrate Black menswear heritage
The 2025 Met Gala has revealed more details about the annual fashion event, including the host committee members and official dress code requirements. This year’s theme, “Tailored for You,” aligns with the spring exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Curated by Monica L. Miller, the exhibition explores the relationship between Black identity and menswear culture, highlighting the rise of dapper Black gentleman style and its cultural significance. The exhibition will be divided into 12 sections, showcasing garments worn by figures such as Frederick Douglass and André Leon Talley, alongside works by contemporary designers like Virgil Abloh and Dapper Dan. It will be on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art from May 10 to October 26, 2025.
