Hong Kong retail revival: New World reports 10% sales growth
New World Development’s Hong Kong malls saw a 10% increase in foot traffic and sales during the Chinese New Year holiday (January 29 to February 2) compared to the same period in 2024. Fifteen malls under New World Development, including APM, Tai Po Mega Mall, and Sheung Shui Metropolis Plaza, proactively prepared by distributing over 10,000 discount coupons via Dianping in early January to target mainland customers. New World Development Executive Director, Feng Xiuyan, said that apparel and clothing benefited from the sharp drop in temperatures before the holiday, with strong demand and significant holiday promotions leading to ideal sales performance.
