Estée Lauder mulls brand sales amid portfolio review
According to a Bloomberg report, Estée Lauder is reviewing its portfolio of beauty brands, which could lead to the sale of some labels as part of a strategy to revitalize the company under new leadership. The company is working with Evercore Inc to evaluate its brands, although no decision on disposals has been made. Estée Lauder, which faced a decline in demand in China and competition from newer brands, withdrew its annual sales and profit forecasts and reduced its dividend in October. CEO Stephane de La Faverie, appointed earlier in the year, has taken over during a challenging period, with the company’s shares falling nearly 50% in 2024, following significant declines in previous years.
