Anta’s Fila brand sees leadership change after 16 years of growth
On January 17, China Entrepreneur reported that Anta’s fashion sports brand portfolio, including Fila, has undergone a leadership change. Yao Weixiong, who led Fila for nearly 16 years, stepped down and was replaced by Jiang Yan, who previously oversaw Anta Kids and Fila Fusion. Anta confirmed Yao’s retirement and his transition to vice president of the group. Under Yao’s leadership, Fila grew from losses to profits exceeding 6 billion RMB ($875 million), with revenue rising from 50 million RMB ($7.5 million) to 25.1 billion RMB ($3.7 billion) by 2023. Fila’s success helped position Anta among China’s top five sports brands and paved the way for global acquisitions.
