BMW Group faces global sales decline, with China showing largest drop

In 2024, BMW Group’s global sales totaled 2.4508 million units, marking a 4% decline compared to the previous year. The BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce brands saw drops of 2%, 17%, and 5%, respectively. BMW revised its 2024 sales forecast due to issues with IBS brake systems and a weak Chinese market. In China, combined sales of BMW and MINI fell 13% to 714,500 units, a decline attributed to the rise of domestic electric vehicle brands. China’s total passenger car sales reached 17.97 million, up 23.1%, with high-end brands seeing a 2.3% increase.
