Chinese tourism to the Philippines shows strong recovery
Tourism revenue in the Philippines reached a record 760.5 billion pesos ($13.8 billion) in 2024, marking a 9.04 percent increase from the previous year. However, the country fell short of its target of 7.7 million foreign visitors. South Korea remained the largest source of tourists, with 1.57 million arrivals in 2024. Mainland Chinese tourism showed signs of recovery, with 313,856 visitors, up from 264,922 in 2023. This growth is attributed to strategic marketing and cultural exchange initiatives celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
