Hong Kong Airlines to resume Australia, Canada routes
Hong Kong Airlines announced on November 22 the resumption of long-haul flights, with plans to restart routes to Australia’s Gold Coast and Canada’s Vancouver on January 17 and 18, 2025, respectively. The airline’s new chairman, Yan Bo, revealed that the company’s flight numbers have fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels, with a seat occupancy rate of around 85%. It is expected that the total number of passengers will exceed 5 million for the year. The company expects to increase its workforce by 60% next year, with a 60% increase in pilots and a 1.6-fold increase in cabin crew. Additionally, the company will continue to recruit talent in local markets, the Greater Bay Area, South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
