Brazil courts Chinese tourists with 10-year visa policy
Brazil and China recently introduced a 10-year visa policy to encourage travel and business exchanges. In 2023, over 42,500 Chinese tourists visited Brazil, and data shows a significant increase in international flight bookings to Brazil. Marcelo Freixo, president of Embratur, the Brazilian tourism promotion agency, highlighted the rising popularity of Brazilian destinations like Iguazu Falls, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and the Amazon among Chinese tourists, noting that the agency is increasing efforts to attract more Chinese visitors by showcasing Brazil’s diverse travel offerings.
