Pola Orbis Group, the parent company of premium Japanese beauty brand Pola, reported a 1.1% YoY decline in revenue to 125.4 billion RMB ($839 million) and a 9.2% drop in operating profit to 10.8 billion RMB ($72 million) for the first three quarters of 2024. Despite Orbis’ robust domestic growth offsetting overseas declines, flagship brand Pola suffered revenue and profit losses in both domestic and overseas markets, while Jurlique, heavily reliant on China, saw losses widen due to falling profit margins. Pola Orbis has restructured its China operations to address localization challenges and improve market responsiveness, with plans to focus on high-end beauty for Pola and cost-control measures for Jurlique.
