Chanel taps former LVMH exec to lead sustainability push
Chanel is reinforcing its commitment to sustainability by appointing Sophie Brocart, CEO of Patou and former LVMH executive, to lead a new initiative focused on circularity. Brocart, who has extensive experience in the fashion and beauty sectors, including co-establishing the LVMH Prize for Young Designers, will join Chanel in early 2025 to develop strategies promoting sustainability, including reducing carbon emissions as part of the brand’s goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040. Chanel has been enhancing its sustainability efforts since launching “Chanel Mission 1.5” in 2020, and in 2021, appointed Kate Wylie as its Chief Sustainability Officer.
