Swire’s One Indigo rebrands as Beijing Taikoo Place
Swire Properties announced on November 1 that its landmark project, One Indigo, in Chaoyang, Beijing, will be renamed Beijing Taikoo Place after the completion of its Phase II expansion, marking the brand’s debut in mainland China. Taikoo Place is known as one of Hong Kong’s prime commercial locations and has become an international business hub. Swire is increasing its investments in the mainland, with a HK$100 billion ($12.8 billion) plan to double its floor area by 2032. Recent investments include acquiring Chengdu Taikoo Li for HK$5.55 billion ($710 million), land in Shanghai, and a stake in One Indigo, along with plans for Sanya Taikoo Li. In the first half of this year, Swire’s retail rental income in the mainland rose by 10% to HK$2.238 billion ($286 million), with its portfolio now including Taikoo Li projects in Sanlitun, Chengdu, and Qiantan, as well as Taikoo Hui in Guangzhou and other locations.
