Tom Ford snags British Fashion Council gong

The British Fashion Council (BFC) announced that Tom Ford, renowned American fashion designer, filmmaker, and businessman, will receive the Outstanding Achievement Award at The Fashion Awards. This recognition celebrates Ford’s transformative impact on the fashion and luxury industries, notably through his work at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent in the 1990s, as well as his eponymous brand launched in 2005. Ford’s creative leadership helped elevate Gucci into a global luxury powerhouse, and he later played a key role in forming the Gucci Group, now Kering. BFC chief executive Caroline Rush praised Ford’s visionary contributions to fashion, film, and culture, calling him a true innovator and icon. The award ceremony will take place on December 2 at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
