Patagonia lays off 1% of workforce

Patagonia is undergoing internal restructuring, resulting in the layoff of 41 employees, or about 1% of its workforce, primarily from its Ventura headquarters. CEO Ryan Gellert stated that the restructuring aims to enhance product development, improve customer experiences, and strengthen workplace culture. Despite the layoffs, Gellert emphasized that Patagonia remains committed to its mission of responsible business practices and environmental advocacy. He reassured that the company’s values remain unchanged following its transfer of ownership to the Patagonia Purpose Trust and Holdfast Collective two years ago. Affected employees will receive severance packages, health insurance support, and career transition assistance.
