Ex-Valentino designer Piccioli tipped for top Fendi role

According to Miss Tweed, several senior industry insiders have revealed that Italian designer Pierpaolo Piccioli will become the new creative director of Fendi. Pierpaolo Piccioli left Valentino in March last year, causing a stir in the fashion industry. He is considered to have strengthened Valentino’s fashion authority, especially in the areas of haute couture and evening wear, and grew the Italian brand to a 1.3 billion euros ($1.5 billion) revenue level during his 16-year tenure. The usual six-month non-compete clause will expire in September.
