China’s cross-border e-commerce exports surge 19.6% in 2023
China’s Ministry of Commerce released the “China Industrial Products Export Roadmap,” on September 13. In 2023, cross-border e-commerce exports reached 1.83 trillion RMB (around $250.71 billion), a 19.6% YoY increase, with rapid growth in industrial goods. Globally, industrial products made up 71% of exports, led by chemicals, telecom equipment, and transportation goods. Asia and Oceania’s manufacturing exports grew to 48%, while North America and Europe saw declines. China’s share reached 20%. The report emphasizes cross-border e-commerce’s role in expanding markets, lowering costs, and boosting innovation.
