East Asian tourism ministers pledge to boost tourism

The 10th China-Japan-Korea Tourism Ministers’ Meeting took place in Kobe on September 11, resulting in a commitment to increase mutual visits among the three countries to 40 million by 2030. The agreement includes measures to restore pre-pandemic tourism levels by 2025, enhance cooperation on attracting tourists, address tourism-related issues, and share data. Japan’s Minister of Land, Tetsuo Saito, highlighted the importance of tourism for building trust and stable development in East Asia. The meeting also discussed boosting direct flights, promoting local attractions, and addressing sustainability and accessibility in tourism.
