Moon-viewing flights and night cruises top Mid-Autumn travel trends

Tongcheng Travel released its 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival Travel Trends Report on September 4, revealing that “Chinese-style night tours” centered around moon appreciation have become a major trend for this year’s holiday. Popular activities include “moon-viewing flights,” night cruises, ancient town gardens, and lantern festivals. Cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Suzhou top the list for domestic travel bookings during the Mid-Autumn Festival, while the popularity of fall travel in the previously trending Altay region continues to rise. The domestic game Black Myth: Wukong has boosted interest in game film location cities like Datong and Shuozhou, placing them on the list of emerging destinations for the festival.
