Rural star Lu Xianren in L’Oréal’s anniversary event

To mark the 10th anniversary of its Beauty for a Better Life initiative, L’Oréal China hosted a “Rice Field Show” featuring “rural supermodel” Lu Xianren and several trainees. The event included a discussion titled Wǒmen’s Vision, where guests such as Lan Zhenzhen of L’Oréal, CCTV host Zhang Yue, and comedian Bird discussed women’s career and family choices. Launched in 2009 by the L’Oréal Corporate Foundation, the “Beauty for a Better Life” project provides free beauty skills training to disadvantaged groups. The program, introduced to China in 2014, aims to empower rural women with skills for employment and entrepreneurship, this year expanding to Yanji to connect beauty training with the local tourism and travel photography industries.
