Japan’s Pola Orbis reports H1 revenue dip, overseas sales plummet

Japanese beauty giant Pola Orbis Group recently announced its H1 2024 performance. Revenue decreased by 2.3% YoY to 83.8 billion yen ($272 million), while profit fell 18.4% to 7.3 billion yen ($49 million). Net profit attributable to parent company shareholders increased 1.3% to 7.5 billion yen ($50 million). By brand, Pola’s main brand sales dropped 2.6% to 81.3 billion yen ($560 million), with its overseas sales plummeting 16%, mainly due to the economic slowdown in the Asian market, including China. Orbis grew by 14.8% to about 24 billion yen ($162 million), and Jurlique increased 6.8% to 4.1 yen billion ($28 million).
