Amorepacific Q2 revenue drops 44% YoY in China

Amorepacific Group, the South Korean beauty giant, reported a 2.4% YoY decline in Q2 2024 revenue to KRW 1 trillion ($750 million) but saw a 4.2% rise in operating profit to KRW 12.2 billion ($9.15 million). The luxury cosmetics division’s revenue fell 7%, while the mid-to-high-end segment grew by 3%. Regionally, revenue dropped by 7.8% in South Korea and 44% in China, but surged by 65% in the US and 182% in EMEA. Amid leadership changes, Chairman Suh Kyung-bae emphasized focusing on US and European markets while addressing challenges in Asia, particularly in China.
