Chinese EV makers surge into Singapore

As Singapore pushes for greater electric vehicle (EV) adoption, more Chinese brands are entering the market. Geely’s Zeekr and Xpeng Motors have recently launched new models, reflecting Singapore’s drive to phase out diesel cars by 2025 and internal combustion engines by 2030. With EV adoption nearly doubling to one-third of new car sales in the first half of 2024, extended incentives and expanding charging infrastructure support this shift. The government aims to install 60,000 charging points by 2030.
