China’s cross-border e-commerce surges 10.5% to $171B in H1

In the first half of 2024, China’s cross-border e-commerce trade volume reached 1.22 trillion RMB (approximately $170.95 billion), a 10.5% YoY increase, according to customs data. This growth was driven by supportive policies such as the creation of pilot zones for e-commerce development and streamlined customs clearance processes, as reported by Lyu Daliang from the General Administration of Customs.
