Adidas Q2 profit soars 96.7% on China sales rebound

Fueled by global sports events, Adidas exceeded expectations in the first half of 2024. For Q2, Adidas reported revenue of 5.822 billion euros ($6.208 billion), up 8.9% YoY, and operating profit of 346 million euros ($368 million), up 96.7%. Net profit rose 125.8% to 19 million euros ($20 million), with a gross margin of 50.8%. The Greater China region showed strong performance with Q2 revenue of 822 million euros ($868 million), up 9.3%, and a first-half total of 1.719 billion euros ($1.815 billion), up 8.5%. Adidas has opened over 100 new stores in China this year and increased the share of “Made in China” products to 75%.
