Manufacturing surge seen boosting Chinese exports

China’s exports are expected to show strong growth in June, likely marking the fastest pace in 15 months as manufacturers accelerated shipments ahead of anticipated tariffs from key export markets. Analysts forecast an 8% YoY increase in export value, up from May’s 7.6%, driven by heightened demand for finished goods. Imports are also expected to rise by 2.8%, reflecting increased purchases of parts for manufacturing. Despite these positive export figures, China’s economy faces challenges including a property downturn and concerns over consumer confidence, prompting reliance on exports to support economic growth targets amid escalating global trade tensions and new tariff threats from various countries.
