South Korea to probe AliExpress, Temu’s operations
South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission (FTC) of South Korea announced on July 5 that it will request data from major e-commerce platforms, including China’s AliExpress and Temu, for a comprehensive market analysis. The FTC plans to gather information on business structure, logistics, and profit models from 40 major platforms such as Coupang, Naver, Kakao, CJ Olive Young, AliExpress, and Temu. The study aims to address competition, innovation, and other issues in the rapidly evolving online retail sector. The FTC intends to publish a policy report on the topic by the end of the year.
