Chanel confirms US customer data breach

French luxury house Chanel has confirmed a data breach affecting its U.S. customer service database. The company notified impacted customers after detecting unauthorized access on July 25. Compromised data includes names, e-mail addresses, mailing addresses, and phone numbers. Chanel stated no malicious software was found on its systems, and business operations remain unaffected. The brand activated its incident response protocol immediately, brought in cybersecurity experts, and set up a dedicated customer hotline. Retail cyberattacks increased 56% this year, according to KnowBe4.
