China Q3 air travel jumps 12.3% as recovery continues
Since the beginning of the year, China’s civil aviation industry has shown steady progress, handling 200 million passengers in the third quarter – a 12.3% increase YoY and a 15.2% rise compared to 2019. Domestic routes accounted for 180 million passengers, up 8.3%, while international routes surged by 78.0% to 18.226 million. During the peak summer season, monthly passenger volumes exceeded 70 million, and since July, international air travel by Chinese airlines has consistently maintained over 90% of 2019 levels for three consecutive months.
