Porsche China sales drop 29% despite big discounts
According to a report from Sina Technology on October 24, Porsche’s suggested retail price for the 2024 Macan 2.0T is 578,000 RMB ($78,750), but some dealers in Shenzhen are offering it for as low as 358,000 RMB ($49,300), which is equivalent to a 40% discount. Additionally, popular models like the Porsche Taycan and Panamera are also seeing price reductions. However, these discounts have not saved Porsche’s sales; data released by the company indicates a 7% decline in global sales for the first three quarters of this year, with a staggering 29% drop in the Chinese market. Facing sluggish sales in China, Porsche China is expanding its R&D team to push forward with smart technology initiatives.
