- Description
Oscar Wang is a Shanghai-based multidisciplinary artist who works fluidly across spatial design, installation, product and fashion, with a sculptural sensibility that has made him a collaboration favorite for luxury and fashion brands. He is the founder of Open Work Studio and the founder and CEO of HAPPENING.
Born in 1990, Wang studied Interior and Spatial Design at Chelsea College of Arts in London. His practice explores human sensory perception and emotional expression, blending traditional philosophy and aesthetics with contemporary life and drawing inspiration from the "sixth sense." It spans spatial design, art installations, product design, digital content, fashion and lifestyle.
His projects include JOURNEY & SPROUT, a site-specific work created on the rooftop of a historic building at Suhe Haus; TIMELESS PAVILION at LANDMARK in Hong Kong, a spatial installation pairing traditional culture with contemporary visual art; and RISING at Christie's, inspired by traditional Chinese bamboo scaffolding. He has also worked on cross-disciplinary collaborations with Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and Fendi.
