To mark its 90th anniversary, high-end sportswear brand Descente has released a commemorative short film featuring actor Daniel Wu and singer-actress Miriam Yeung. Known for their past collaborations in classic Hong Kong cinema, the two reunite in the film as music producers, using electronic music to reinterpret the brand’s history. Set in a futuristic music studio, Wu and Yeung sample sounds from Descente’s archives and production process — such as the hum of sewing machines, the slice of fabric cutters, and the stamping of brand logos — to create a layered soundtrack. These elements are interwoven with audio from sports scenes including skiing, golf, and triathlon, capturing athletes’ movements and emotions in competition.
